Wishing Away Time

Sitting in the house, it occurred to me how sometimes we wish away time, wanting it to go quicker so that we can get a bit forward. Rarely a good thing, as we should really treasure every second.

Anyway, I decided to try to make an image to express that notion of wishing away time. With an out-sized pocket watch, some background items and a nearby window, I created this photograph.

Created and processed using an iPhone and iPad.

Surfers, Belhaven Bay

A day spent photographing various locations along the East Coast of Scotland gave me this image, of surfers at Belhaven Bay.

What is unusual is that the surfers were not doing what you might expect them to be doing; instead, they were performing acrobatics in between going into the water.

Cloisters

A visit to the Hunterian Museum would not have been complete without photographing the Cloisters at Glasgow University.

I processed the image with the intention of giving it an ‘old’ feel and in such a way that the focus of the image was the far away doorway at the opposite end of the cloisters, using the contrast and tones to achieve this.

Tea With The March Hare

A visit to Kelvingrove revealed a display of bizarre creatures, such as a winged squirrel with porcupine spines in it’s back.

Amongst the other oddities, I came across this cute little fellow, inviting me over for a cuppa. I couldn’t resist.

Incidentally, I didn’t add the tea cup – he really was holding it.

Arria Afire

An afternoon out with the camera eventually led me to re-visiting the Arria sculpture in Cumbernauld.

Having photographed her previously, I wanted to try something different so I used my iPhone to make an image of her.

Later, I processed this image on the iPhone, using several editing apps such as Artists Touch, Scratch Cam and Photo Toaster. This was the resulting image.
